Clara de Asís - Mara Winter - Léo Dupleix
Structure, pensée
A composition by Léo Dupleix
Mara Winter - bass flute
Clara de Asís - guitar, small percussion
Léo Dupleix - sine tones
This ad hoc ensemble played « structure, pensée », a composition by Léo Dupleix, on a Sunday morning of January 2020, in a room, in Marseille. This release is a documentation of this moment. Structure, pensée: is a composition that asks the performers to define 6 pitches together through various possible processes. The performers are then invited to play the same melody written as a series of numbers, each at his/her own pace, together. The combination of timbre, imbricated melodies and chords have an inherent improvised feeling, while the structure of the piece is quite defined. However, it is possible—or recommended—to get lost in it.

This music is a miracle, perfection. Expansive in its simplicity and beauty. I can return to it again and again, always hearing something different enfolding me. Larry Looney

Such a wonderful work. Full of mysteries. Beautifully played and recorded by a fine string trio. I discovered through this recording an excellent composer that I will surely follow and listen. Highly recommended. Cordâme
